Export Stash vs. Wix's built-in CSV import and export
Export Stash is a BigCommerce app that bulk-imports products from CSV and automatically exports your store data — orders, products, inventory, customers and product reviews — plus Google Shopping, Meta, TikTok and Pinterest product feeds. It creates products and variants from a spreadsheet delivered by upload, FTP, Google Sheets or URL, and delivers CSV, XLSX or TXT exports to Google Sheets, FTP servers or email on a schedule you control. Export Stash also works with Wix and Ecwid stores.
Wix Stores ships its own CSV import and export. For many stores it's enough. This page compares it with what Export Stash adds on Wix, so you can decide whether you need an app at all.
Quick comparison
| Capability | Export Stash | Wix's built-in CSV tools |
|---|---|---|
| Import products from your own CSV layout | Yes — map your own columns in a three-step wizard, works on V1 and V3 Wix catalogs | Yes, but the file must match Wix's own CSV template |
| Update products that already exist | No — import is create-only; a duplicate SKU is skipped, never updated | Yes — the native import updates existing products matched by handle |
| Import file source | Upload, FTP, SFTP, FTPS, WebDAV, Google Sheet or a public URL | File upload only |
| Undo a bad import | Yes — one click deletes every product the run created and returns your credits | No undo — remove products by hand |
| Test before committing | Yes — five-product test run, live progress, cancel mid-run | No test mode |
| Import error reporting | Two CSV reports per run: imported, and failed with a reason per row | Yes — a per-row error CSV can be generated |
| Scheduled, recurring imports and exports | Yes — exports daily, weekends or specific days; imports hourly or daily | No — every import and export is a manual run |
| Export delivery | Email, FTP, SFTP, FTPS, WebDAV or straight into a live Google Sheet — several at once | Browser download only |
| Export formats and fields | CSV, XLSX or TXT, with exactly the fields you choose | CSV in Wix's layout; order export lets you deselect columns |
| Marketing feed files | Google Shopping, Meta, TikTok & Pinterest feed files, generated and delivered on a schedule | No feed file export (Wix offers its own Google sales channel integration) |
When are Wix's built-in tools all you need?
If you import or export occasionally, are comfortable reshaping your file into Wix's CSV template, and a browser download is fine as the destination, the built-in tools cost nothing and live right in your dashboard. They are also the right choice when you need to update products that already exist — Wix's native import updates products matched by handle, while Export Stash's import only creates new products.
When does Export Stash make sense on Wix?
Export Stash fits when you need recurring, hands-off exports of orders or products delivered to Google Sheets, FTP or email on a schedule, when you want Google Shopping, Meta, TikTok or Pinterest feed files generated automatically, or when you load new catalogues from supplier spreadsheets that don't match Wix's template — mapping your own columns, pulling the file from FTP, a Google Sheet or a URL, testing with five products first, and undoing the whole run in one click if it goes wrong. A Wix import maps name, SKU, price, description, brand, ribbon, visibility, weight, stock quantity and images, with variants of up to three options grouped by a key column.
