Guides › How to Import Products to BigCommerce from CSV
How do I import products into BigCommerce from a CSV?
Install Export Stash, open Import Products, choose your CSV, map its columns to BigCommerce product fields and run the import. Products and variants are created in bulk, and one click undoes the whole run.
What you need
- A BigCommerce store with Export Stash installed
- A CSV file with at least name, SKU, price and weight columns
- Import credits: 1 credit imports 1 product, and every store starts with 20 free
Steps
- Open Import Products and click New Import.
- Source: upload your CSV, or choose FTP, SFTP, FTPS, WebDAV, Google Sheet or Download URL. The delimiter is detected automatically.
- Map Fields: match each BigCommerce field to a column. A sample value from your file is shown beside each field.
- For variants, pick the column that groups rows into one product and map up to three options, such as size and color.
- Confirm: check the summary and click Confirm and save.
- In the import list, open the arrow next to Run and choose Test Import (5 products). Check the result.
- Click Run to import the full file, then download the imported and failed CSV reports.
Good to know
- Fields you can import include description, cost, retail, sale and MAP price, dimensions, inventory, brand, UPC, GTIN, MPN, images, variant images and custom fields.
- Name, description and images can combine several columns, and any field can use a fixed value.
- Import creates new products only. A duplicate SKU is skipped. To update existing products, use a supplier file sync.
- Wix stores can import products the same way.
FAQ
Can I undo a BigCommerce product import?
Yes. Click Undo this import. It deletes every product the import created and returns your credits.
Can I import product variants into BigCommerce?
Yes. Rows are grouped into one product by a key column, with up to three options per product.
What happens to rows that fail?
They are listed in a failed-products CSV with the reason for each, so you can fix and re-import them.
How much does importing cost?
Imports are pay-as-you-go: 1 credit per product, 20 free credits to start, from $6, and credits never expire.
